By Faith in The Name of Jesus

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

Acts 3:16

How was the crippled man at the Beautiful Gate healed? I’m not talking about who healed him and what physically transpired, I’m asking about the process. How was that healing made possible? The crowd gathered at the Beautiful Gate that day had the same question but thank God Peter had an answer; not just for them but also for us today.  Filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter explained to them that this miraculous healing took place through faith in the name of Jesus.

The name of Jesus holds immeasurable power. It is a name above all names, and at the mention of His name, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11). In His name, there is healing, deliverance, salvation, and transformation.

However, the power of the name of Jesus in our lives is contingent upon our faith. Faith activates the power inherent in His name. When we come to God in prayer, believing and trusting in the authority and power of Jesus’ name, anything is possible.

Jesus Himself declared, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer” (Matthew 21:22). Faith is like a door that opens the way (or Having faith allows) for God to move mightily in our lives and circumstances. It unlocks the boundless blessings God desires to give His children.

Yet, exercising faith is not always easy. In the face of challenges, doubts, and uncertainties, our faith may waver. But even a mustard seed-sized faith can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). We must choose to trust in the promises of God, knowing that He is faithful to fulfil His word.

As we cultivate a lifestyle of faith, let us boldly approach the throne of grace, confident in the power of the name of Jesus. Let us pray with unwavering faith, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank you for the immeasurable power and authority that is found in the name of Jesus. Help me to cultivate a steadfast faith that trusts in your promises and believes in your ability to work miracles in my life. Strengthen my faith, Lord, and teach me to pray with confidence, knowing that you are able to do far more than I could ever ask or imagine. May your name be glorified in all that I do. Amen.
