To face, solve, and conquer the challenges of life, you must have faith in God. The world is governed by two opposing forces: faith and fear. These forces are constantly at work in our lives, and one of them will dominate our actions, decisions, and outcomes.
Sadly, fear is the force that holds many people captive. However, those who make significant progress in life often operate under the force of faith. Yet, many of these individuals may not place their faith in God. They might have faith in themselves or in their own abilities, believing that they can accomplish anything. This kind of self-confidence can lead to impressive achievements in the natural world.
But there’s a key difference—natural faith in yourself can take you far, but it will not sustain you when the true challenges of life arise. I once read about an ex-president who was described as “supremely self-confident.” The chief of staff said that this individual believed there was nothing he couldn’t do. While this self-belief propelled him forward, it was rooted in confidence in his own abilities, not in faith in God.
The problem with self-reliance is that it fails when faced with the authentic challenges of life, especially those that come from the enemy. Fear paralyzes, while faith empowers. Fear can trap the Holy Spirit inside of you, hindering your progress. On the other hand, when you walk in faith, your body becomes a vessel for the Holy Spirit, propelling you forward in power, love, and sound judgment.
You cannot make true progress under the influence of fear. It is only through faith in God that you will overcome the challenges of this life and fulfill the purpose he has set for you. Choose faith today, and let it lead you to victory.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the power of faith that you have given me. I choose today to reject fear and walk in the power, love, and sound mind that you have promised. help me to place my trust fully in you, so that I can face every challenge with confidence and victory. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and guide me to overcome every obstacle that stands in my way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
