Is The Word Of God Enough For You?

In the book of John chapter 2, we saw Jesus at a wedding which took place at Cana in Galilee. As the wedding was going on, they realized that the wine was finished, Jesus’ mother reached out to Jesus for help and although his response almost indicated that he won’t help them Mary told the servants that “whatever he tells you, do it”

Nearby there were six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[b]. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. (Verses 6-7)

Then in verse 8, Jesus told the servants “Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”

Now, Jesus hasn’t turned the water into wine yet, he didn’t even pray on it before he asked the servants to take it to the chairman. Yet, these servants obeyed and went, not because they’ve tasted it but because Jesus said so. THE WORD OF JESUS WAS ENOUGH FOR THEM.

In Luke chapter 5, we saw a similar faith in Peter Between verses 4-6 we saw that “When Jesus had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. BUT BECAUSE YOU SAID SO, I will let down the nets.”

Similarly, in Luke 17, we see a similar faith as displayed by some leppers. Verses 12-14 tells us that  “As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[b] met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.”

The servants moved at GOD’S WORD, Peter cast his nets at GOD’S WORD, and the leppers moved at God’s word even though they have not been physically healed. They all saw the glory of God in the end.

So I ask you today ‘ WILL THE WORD OF GOD BE ENOUGH FOR YOU?  For it will be just  exactly as David said in Psalm 34:5 “They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.” This will be your portion this week as you trust wholly on God’s word in Jesus name.
