Leadership by Faith 1

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” – Romans 8:14

Crises are inevitable in this world. However, as believers, God has a separate package prepared for us. By following the principles of faith, we can rise above every storm in life. When you find yourself in the middle of a storm, living by faith will have you already wrapped up in God’s instructions and directions, ready to navigate the challenges with His guidance. To live in faith, you must apply these essential principles:

Principle 1: Leadership by your Born-Again Spirit

Jesus demonstrated the power of setting a clear course when he said, “Let us go over to the other side.” (Mark 4:35). With this simple statement, he set the future course for Himself and His disciples. This is a critical question for every believer: Who sets the course of your life?

It’s important to settle this question clearly and early in your life. Let your born-again spirit lead, with your soul and body following its guidance. Your spirit may direct you to do things that seem contrary to the logic of your mind or education, but in such moments, it is essential to follow the leading of your spirit. For example, if God reveals to you that you should open a restaurant, that revelation becomes your first step. Then, your mind can pursue knowledge on how to run the business effectively. Your spirit sets the direction, and your mind follows in pursuit of the necessary knowledge and understanding.

Corporately, the Holy Spirit is our ultimate leader. The Holy Spirit and the Word of God are always in agreement. If you hear a direction that claims to be from the Holy Spirit but contradicts the Word of God, you should reject that course of action. The Holy Spirit will never lead you in a way that goes against God’s Word.

Prayer:
Father, thank you for the leadership of the Holy Spirit in my life. I pray that I will always follow the guidance of my born-again spirit, and allow your instructions to lead me, even when it contradicts the logic of my mind or education. help me to stay in agreement with your Word. Guide my decisions and direct my steps in every area of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
