Living by Faith: Dealing with Personal Needs

“Have faith in God.” – Mark 11:22

As believers, we are called to live by faith, not by anointing, regardless of our roles or titles. Even Jesus, the Son of God, used His faith for His personal needs. While he used His anointing to meet the needs of others, he depended on His faith for His own personal challenges. One of the most telling examples is when Jesus was hungry and saw a fig tree from a distance, hoping to find figs. When he found none, despite the season not being right for figs, he cursed the tree. This act was puzzling at first glance, but Jesus had a purpose in doing so.

The fig tree was not supposed to have fruit, yet Jesus cursed it. Why? Jesus wanted to teach His disciples a vital lesson—faith is not just a general tool; it is meant to be used for personal needs and situations. He wasn’t just showing them the power of His anointing; he was demonstrating how to activate their faith for specific, personal needs.

There are times in life when we face issues that we did not expect—sickness, trouble, or challenges of any kind. The question is: do we know how to use our faith in those moments? Faith is not something to be tested in the middle of a crisis. It must be something we know works because we have already learned to live by it. Jesus used His faith to handle personal needs, and he showed us how to do the same.

I encourage you to dive into Mark 11 and learn how to use your faith practically. It will equip you to deal with the specific challenges that arise in your life, ensuring that you are always ready to overcome any situation with confidence in God’s Word.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for showing me how to live by faith, especially in personal moments of need. I pray for the strength and understanding to use my faith effectively, no matter what I face. help me to trust in you and activate my faith with confidence. I commit to living by faith daily and using it to overcome life’s challenges. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
