Loved Like Jesus

As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.- John 15:9 (NKJV)

One of the most overlooked truths in the Christian life is that Jesus loves us just as the Father loves Him. Many believers find this hard to accept. Deep down, they assume God’s love is measured-based on performance, background, or worthiness. But Scripture shatters that lie. Jesus said, ‘As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you’. That means the love He gives us is not a secondhand or watered-down version-it is the very same love the Father has for Him.

This love is not earned or conditional. It doesn’t waver when you fall short. It doesn’t change based on your past, your family, or your mistakes. God doesn’t love you a little less when you mess up, and He doesn’t love you a little more when you do everything right. His love is full, complete, and unchanging.

Too many of us live like we’e trying to qualify for God’s affection-as if we’re distant relatives barely included in the family. But you are not a second-tier child of God. You are not merely accepted; you are cherished. You are not merely included; you are dearly loved. God’s love for you is personal, powerful, and equal to the love He has for His own Son.

The enemy will often whisper lies-reminding you of your past, your weaknesses, or your failures. But God’s love speaks louder. When you are rooted in His love, shame loses its grip, and insecurity begins to fade. You no longer need to seek validation in people or accomplishments. You already have the greatest validation of all: you are loved by the King of kings with the same love He has for Jesus.

When this truth settles in your heart, everything changes. You stop striving and start abiding. You stop comparing and start resting. You begin to live boldly-not to earn God’s love, but because you are already deeply loved. Let this truth shape your thoughts, your prayers, and your daily walk: You are loved like Jesus.

Prayer:
Father, thank you for loving me with the same love you have for Jesus. Help me to truly grasp the depth of your love and to live from that place of security. Silence every lie that tells me I’m not enough or not worthy. Let your love define me, fill me, and flow through me. Teach me to abide in your love every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
