John 14:13–14 (NKJV) “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

The power of prayer is not in the volume of your voice. It is in the authority of the Name.

Jesus did not tell us to pray based on our merit. He did not tell us to pray based on how well we performed this week. He told us to pray in His Name.

To pray in the Name of Jesus is more than adding words at the end of a request. It is approaching God on the basis of Christ’s finished work. It is standing in His righteousness. It is aligning with His will and character.

His Name represents His authority. His victory. His obedience. His sacrifice. His resurrection power.

When you pray in His Name, you are not presenting your résumé. You are presenting His.

This is why boldness in prayer is possible. Not because you are flawless, but because Christ is faithful. Not because you are worthy, but because He has made you accepted.

Praying in His Name also means praying in harmony with who He is. You cannot invoke His Name to support what contradicts His nature. His Name carries weight because it reflects His heart.

When you speak His Name in prayer, you are declaring that Jesus is Lord over the situation. You are inviting His rule, His will, and His glory into that circumstance.

And Jesus promised that what is asked in His Name, for the Father’s glory, He will do.

Pray until something happens, and let His Name be the foundation of your confidence.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank you for granting me access to the Father through your Name. Teach me to pray in alignment with your will and character. Remove self-reliance from my heart and anchor my confidence in your finished work. Let every prayer I lift bring glory to the Father through you. Amen.
