Strengthening Your Faith Through Confession

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” – Mark 11:24

Faith is closely connected to what we speak. Just as physical strength is revealed when we feel weak, the strength of our faith is reflected in our words. If you sense that your faith is weakening, check your confession. Have you stopped speaking God’s promises? Are you speaking words of doubt and negativity? The words you speak are powerful; they directly influence the strength of your faith.

When you are in the presence of God—whether at church, in worship, or during teaching—you are in an atmosphere charged with faith. It’s easy to speak faith-filled words in such an environment. However, the real test of faith comes when you are alone. The battles of faith are fought in the quiet moments, away from the crowd. In those times, it is essential to keep your mouth strong by speaking God’s Word consistently.

As a young Christian, I had a profound encounter with Mark 11:24. Jesus gave us a straightforward promise: “Whatsoever thing ye desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.” There is no need to change or improve on this truth. It works because it is rooted in Jesus’ own experience. he used His faith in the face of hunger and need, and he taught us how to apply that same faith in our lives.

To build and maintain strong faith, check your confession daily. Speak God’s promises over your life, especially in times of challenge. Your words will activate the power of faith, leading to results that honor God.

Father, thank you for the power of confession. I pray that my words align with your promises, and that my faith will remain strong. help me to speak your Word consistently, even when I am alone, and to trust in your faithfulness to fulfill every promise. Strengthen my confession and my faith, so that I may overcome every obstacle with the power of your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
