The God Who Sees

“So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey.” – Exodus 3:8 (NKJV)

The Israelites had been crying out in slavery for years, and it may have seemed like heaven was silent. But in Exodus 3, God reminds us that He is not distant or unaware. He sees our suffering. He told Moses, “I have surely seen the oppression of My people… I know their sorrows.” And then He makes a promise: “I have come down to deliver them.” Isn’t that reassuring? Our God doesn’t just watch from afar; He steps into our pain with the intention to rescue and restore.

We’ve all had seasons where it felt like God was quiet while we struggled-whether through sickness, financial hardship, loneliness, or disappointment. But the truth is, He is the God who sees. Just like He saw Israel in Egypt, He sees you where you are. He doesn’t ignore your tears or dismiss your prayers. Instead, He responds with both compassion and purpose. His response is not just to comfort but to deliver, to bring you into a new season, into “a land flowing with milk and honey.”

It’s worth noting that God’s rescue doesn’t always happen overnight. Israel’s deliverance involved a process. Moses had to be prepared, Pharaoh had to be confronted, and the Red Sea had to be crossed. Likewise, God may be working in ways you can’t yet see, preparing your breakthrough step by step. What feels like delay is often God aligning everything for your good and His glory.

So take heart today: the God who saw His people in Egypt sees you too. He knows your struggles, your fears, and your pain. And just as He came down to deliver Israel, He has already come down in Christ to deliver us from sin and to lead us into eternal life. Trust Him, He has not forgotten you.

Prayer:
Father, thank you that you are the God who sees me, even in my hardest moments. Help me to trust that you are not ignoring my pain, but working with purpose to deliver me. Strengthen my heart to wait on your timing and to believe that you are leading me into your promises. In Jesus’ name, amen.
