The Great Escape

“Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, ‘Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the Lord as you have said.’” – Exodus 12:31 (NKJV)

After centuries of slavery and countless pleas for freedom, the breakthrough finally came. Pharaoh, who had resisted God over and over, suddenly begged Moses and Aaron to take the Israelites and leave Egypt immediately. In a single night, God turned the impossible into reality. Israel didn’t sneak out timidly; they walked out as a people delivered by the hand of Almighty God. When God moves, He doesn’t do it halfway-His deliverance is sudden, decisive, and complete.

Isn’t that how God often works in our lives? We can pray, wait, and endure seasons that feel like they will never end, and then suddenly the breakthrough comes. The job offer arrives, the healing is confirmed, the debt is cleared, the relationship is restored. What seemed immovable shifts in an instant, because when God says it’s time, nothing can stand in His way.

But notice something else: Israel’s escape wasn’t random-it was tied to God’s timing and God’s plan. The blood of the lamb had been applied, the night of judgment had come, and then freedom was announced. Likewise, our deliverance comes through the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. His sacrifice not only breaks the chains of sin but also ensures that when God declares our freedom, it is full and final.

So if you’re still waiting for your “great escape,” don’t lose hope. God is faithful, and His timing is perfect. When He moves, it will not be partial or delayed-it will be decisive. Trust Him, because your story is in the hands of the One who sets captives free.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that when You deliver, You do it completely. Help me to trust Your timing as I wait for my breakthrough. Teach me to rest in the assurance that no chain, no Pharaoh, and no obstacle is stronger than Your power to set me free. In Jesus’ name, amen.
