The I AM Sent You

Key Verse:
“Then Moses said to God, ‘Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, “The God of your fathers has sent me to you,” and they say to me, “What is His name?” what shall I say to them?’ And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’” – Exodus 3:13–14 (NKJV)

Moses’ question makes sense. “Who should I say sent me?” He knew how people could question his authority, and after his past failure in Egypt, he feared rejection. It was not just a question of information; it was a cry for assurance. In his heart, he was wondering, “Why would anyone listen to me?” But God’s response was simple and powerful: “I AM WHO I AM.” That name settled every question. The God who is self-existent, all-sufficient, and eternal was the One sending him.

Like Moses, you may hesitate to step into your assignment because you fear people’s opinions. The world today can be ruthless, quick to judge, and eager to discredit. Sometimes, it is not even the world but believers who question your calling. Yet God’s answer to Moses is the same for you. The “I AM” sent you. You are not representing yourself; you are carrying the authority of the Almighty. When God sends you, no human validation is required.

Knowing your sender changes everything. It silences fear and gives you confidence to face opposition. You do not have to explain your past or prove your worth; your assignment carries its own evidence. The One who called you will confirm His word through you. Every time doubt tries to rise, remind yourself that the Great I AM is backing you up.

Beloved, do not let fear stop you from speaking or stepping out. You are sent by the same God who turned shepherds into prophets and fishermen into apostles. Stand boldly in that truth. The I AM has sent you, and that is enough.

Prayer:
Father, thank you for reminding me that I am not alone. You are the I AM who sends, equips, and strengthens me. Help me to walk in boldness, knowing that your authority covers me. Silence every voice of fear and doubt, and let your power speak through my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
