The Power of Personal Revelation

 “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” – Matthew 16:18

If you are going to prevail as a Christian in the journey and situations of life, it is critical to understand the subject of today: What is your personal revelation of Jesus? Your victory in life is directly linked to your personal revelation of who Jesus is to you. This is not about what someone else says or knows about Him, but what you know personally. Do you have a personal revelation of Jesus? you must be clear on this, as it will determine how you face life’s challenges.

The “rock” that Jesus referred to in Matthew 16:18 is revelation-based knowledge, not sense-based knowledge. This is what set Elisha apart from the sons of the prophets. While everyone had access to the information that Elijah would be taken up, only Elisha had the deeper revelation that when Elijah was taken, there would be a vacancy in the prophetic office, and someone needed to step in. Elisha’s pursuit of this revelation led him to receive a double portion of Elijah’s spirit. It’s those who seek and act on the deeper revelation of God that experience transformation in their lives.

Our quietness and confidence in life are products of the revelation we carry inside, not the situations we find ourselves in. For instance, in 2 Kings 6, when the King of Assyria sent soldiers to Dothan, where Elisha was, his servant cried out in fear, “Alas, my master! How shall we do?” Elisha, however, was calm and confident. He prayed, and the servant’s eyes were opened to see the chariots of fire and horses surrounding them. Elisha was not moved by the situation because his revelation of God’s power was greater than the threat around him.

God wants your revelation to change. The situation you’re facing may not change immediately, but when your revelation changes, your solution begins. The power of your revelation can shift your perspective, and when you truly understand who God is to you, everything changes.

Father, thank you for revealing yourself to me. I pray for a deeper revelation of who you are and what you can do in my life. help me to understand your truth beyond mere information. May my personal revelation of you be the foundation of my victory in every situation I face. Open my eyes to see your power at work, and let my confidence in you grow stronger each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
