The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
Numbers 6:24-25
Three days ago we started a conversation on the priestly prayer of Aaron. In the first line of the prayer we saw a pronouncement of God’s blessing. In the second line we saw God keeping; if he has blessed, he will also keep. Today, we’re in the third line of this blessing, “The Lord makes his face shine on you,”
To have the radiant, pleased face of God shining upon us is the greatest gift we could ever receive. It signifies His acceptance, favor, and approval—a divine embrace that transcends all earthly recognition or validation. When God looks upon us with His radiant countenance, it communicates His deep love and delight in us, not because of who we are or what we have done, but simply because we are His beloved children.
In a world where rejection and criticism abound, the assurance of God’s acceptance and approval brings unparalleled peace and power into our lives. When we know that the Creator of the universe smiles upon us with His radiant face, it doesn’t matter who may reject or criticize us. His acceptance is the ultimate source of our identity and worth, grounding us in His unfailing love and grace.
As believers, we must go through life armed with the truth that God’s face shines upon us. We must carry this assurance in our hearts and minds, allowing it to shape our perspective and empower us to face the challenges and uncertainties of life with confidence and courage. No matter what trials or tribulations may come our way, we can rest in the knowledge that God’s radiant face is ever upon us, guiding us, protecting us, and leading us into His perfect will.
So, when you go to work, school or your place of business today, strive to relate with everyone in love. However, if anyone thinks you are not deserving of their love, good remarks or compliments, it should never bother you. Instead, you should pity them, because they failed to notice a man on whom God has already smiled.
Remember, if God is already for you, who can be against you? Nobody!
Heavenly Father, thank you for the assurance of your acceptance and approval in my life. Help me to embrace the truth that your face shines upon me with radiant love and favor. May this assurance fill me with peace and power as I navigate through life’s challenges. Help me to live each day grounded in the knowledge of your unfailing love and grace, in Jesus’ name.
