When God Causes You to Be Remembered

Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, ‘Today I am reminded of my shortcomings… Now a young Hebrew was there with us, a servant of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he interpreted them for us, giving each man the interpretation of his dream.’” – Genesis 41:9,12 (NIV)

Have you ever done something good for someone, only for it to seem forgotten? You gave your time, your skills, or your resources, and hoped it would open a door, but nothing happened. It’s easy to feel overlooked, but Joseph’s story shows us that God’s timing is everything. The cupbearer forgot Joseph after his release, despite Joseph’s request to speak of him to Pharaoh. For two long years, Joseph remained in prison. But when the time was right, God stirred the cupbearer’s memory, and Joseph was brought from the dungeon to the palace in a single day.

In our lives, being remembered can make all the difference. A client remembers your professionalism and calls you for a big project. A mentor remembers your diligence and recommends you for a job. Just as Joseph’s faithfulness was finally recognized, your hard work and integrity will not go unnoticed. People may forget, but God does not. He knows the perfect moment to bring your name to the right people.

Consider Mordecai, who saved the king’s life and was forgotten for years. But one sleepless night, the king ordered the records to be read, and Mordecai’s loyalty was rewarded. Both Joseph and Mordecai remind us that God is in control of who remembers us and when. When He orchestrates a season of remembrance, it brings honor, promotion, and blessings we couldn’t have achieved on our own.

Friend, if you feel forgotten today, take heart. God sees every effort, every sacrifice, and every seed you’ve sown. Trust His timing. Pray for those who need to remember you to be divinely prompted, and stay faithful in what you do. At the appointed time, God will cause you to be remembered, and your story will change in ways you never imagined.

PRAYER
Lord, thank you for always remembering me and for orchestrating events in my life at the perfect time. I ask that you prompt those who need to remember me for good to do so. Help me to stay faithful and diligent in all that I do, trusting your timing and plan. I believe that you have a season of remembrance and promotion for me. Strengthen my faith while I wait, and may your name be glorified through my testimony.
