You were made through Him

Through Him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

John 1:3

Yesterday, we began examining the source of all things and concluded that everything that exists has just one Source: “The Word”. We also started exploring the implications of everything having a single source, and we realized that it means all things exist by the Will of the Creator, including yourself. For through Him, you were made, and without Him, you would not have been made. If you were not made without Him, it means that no one exists without Him, even though they may appear to exist. This brings us to the second point: “Life does not truly begin until the creation acknowledges and lives according to the Will of the Creator.” Without the Creator, creation has no meaning.

At this point, I want you to think deeply about your life. Ask yourself, “What is the meaning of my life? What am I living for?” Is life about getting a good life, a good job or business, making friends, or getting all the money we can, and living on and on? As much as it is good to live a good life, eat, drink, enjoy life, and do so many good things in life, the existence of a Creator gives us a perspective that our very own existence has a meaning, that is, it is for a purpose. “For as in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the Ark” (Matt 24:38). As much as there is no issue with everything mentioned (eating, drinking, marrying, etc.), there is an issue if the Will of the Creator has no place in the creation. So, we look at the world today and wonder how people live every day trying to please themselves or other people, neglecting the will of the Creator.

As Solomon said, “Remember your Creator in the days of your youth.” Therefore, the time is now, not tomorrow. It is time you refocus your life on the One who made you and put you where you are.

We must also remember that nothing is made from nothing, and if our lives are lived in nothingness, that life is nothing. But we are created by God for His purpose and glory, and we must live as people who are created intentionally.

PRAYER

Father, thank you for creating me. I know sometimes I live as though I am living for myself. Have mercy on me and help me to live my life with purpose, glorifying God all the days of my life.
