This is My Beloved Son

This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. – Matthew 3:17 (NKJV)

As we enter the month of July, it’s a reminder that we are halfway through the year. This moment gives us an opportunity to reflect on our journey with God and our identity in Him. A few years ago, I had a revelation that still rings in my heart to this day. In that moment, I heard the words, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. The words echoed in my spirit, and I felt an intense focus on the second part: …in whom I am well pleased.

The Holy Spirit began to impress on me the importance of being a son who pleases the Father. As Christians, our ultimate goal is not only to be sons and daughters of God but to be those who live in a way that pleases Him. Just as Jesus was the beloved Son in whom the Father was well pleased, we too are called to live in such a way that we bring joy to God’s heart.

When we reflect on this truth, we realize that it’s not about striving to earn God’s love but aligning our lives with His will. When we do this, we step into the fullness of our sonship. We can stand before the Father with confidence, knowing that we have lived in a way that honours Him.

This month, I want you to ask yourself, Am I living in a way that pleases the Father? Let’s reflect on what it means to be sons and daughters who walk in obedience, love, and humility. May we continue this journey together, pursuing a life that brings delight to our Heavenly Father.

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for calling me your child. Help me to live in a way that pleases you in all that I do. Help me so that my life will reflect your love, your grace, and your truth. I ask for the strength to walk in obedience to your will and to honor you as my Father. I want to be the son that you are well pleased with. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
