Imagine standing by the edge of the Red Sea with the sound of hooves thundering behind you and waves roaring in front of you. Fear would make perfect sense in that moment. Yet, in the midst of the chaos, God speaks through Moses, “Be still.” What a strange instruction in such a crisis! Stillness seems unreasonable when everything around you is moving fast and threatening to collapse. But stillness is often the divine strategy when God is about to show Himself strong.
Stillness is not the absence of activity; it is the presence of peace. It is a quiet confidence that comes from knowing that God is already at work, even when you cannot see it. Sometimes, God does not immediately change your situation because He first wants to change you. When you bring your fears to Him, His first response is not always to remove the storm but to calm the storm inside you. That is because peace is not found in the absence of trouble but in the presence of God.
You are not of this world; you are from a kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy. The world gives tribulation because that is all it knows, but heaven gives peace that makes no sense to the natural mind. When you choose to stay calm instead of panicking, when you respond to trials with faith instead of fear, you are displaying the nature of your true kingdom. That is how heaven invades earth—through your peace, your stillness, and your trust.
Beloved, stand still. Do not try to fix it in your strength. Do not let fear write your script. Stand still and let the Lord fight for you. The situation that looks like a threat is actually an opportunity for heaven to reveal glory through you. The same God who parted the Red Sea still makes a way where there seems to be none.

Lord, teach me to be still when life feels overwhelming. Help me to rest in your peace and trust your timing. Remind me that stillness is not weakness but faith in action. I receive your calmness over every storm in my heart. Today, I choose to stand still and see your salvation. Amen.
