Ask Boldly

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” – James 1:5 (NIV)

Have you ever stood at a crossroads, unsure of what to do? Maybe you’ve prayed something like, “Lord, I don’t even know what to ask for-I just need help!” James gives us a direct invitation: if you need wisdom (and who doesn’t?), ask God. He’s not stingy, and He doesn’t shame us for not knowing. In fact, He welcomes our questions and loves to give guidance.

That alone is a game-changer. We often hesitate to ask because we think we should already have it figured out. We imagine God rolling His eyes at our repeated confusion. But James paints a different picture-God gives generously and without finding fault. He’s not annoyed by your questions. He’s delighted that you came to Him.

But here’s the key: we must ask in faith. Not with a plan B in our back pocket. Not half-hoping and half-doubting. God wants us to believe that He is who He says He is-a wise, loving Father who gives good gifts to His children. Faith is not about pretending we’re confident; it’s about trusting Him even when we’re uncertain.

What wisdom do you need today? Parenting? Career decisions? Relationships? Inner peace? Ask boldly. Go to your Father like a child who knows they are loved and heard. And then wait with trust-He will answer.

Prayer:
Father, thank you for being generous with your wisdom. I don’t want to lean on my own understanding. I come to you in faith today-asking boldly, trusting fully. Speak clearly, guide me gently, and help me to walk in your wisdom. Amen.
