But God Raised Him From the Dead

‘But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. ‘

Acts 2:24

Over the past three days, we’ve been discussing Peter’s response to the crowd that gathered at Pentecost after the supernatural event. Today, we’ll be looking at the third point in his address.

In Acts 2:23, Peter emphasised a profound truth about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He said that God raised Jesus from the dead through the power of the Holy Spirit. You might be thinking, “Of course, we all know that God raised Jesus from the dead.” You’re right, but what does that truth imply for you?

It’s not just a demonstration of God’s sovereignty over death; it also reveals the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit.

As believers, we are recipients of this same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead. The Apostle Paul affirms this truth in Romans 8:11, declaring that the Spirit of God, who raised Christ from the dead, dwells in us. This means the same resurrection power that brought Jesus back to life is available to us as believers.

Just as God raised Jesus from the dead, He can breathe new life into any dead or stagnant area of our lives. Whether it’s a broken relationship, a struggling career, a stagnant spiritual life, or a struggling church, the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit can bring about transformation and renewal.

However, to experience the fullness of this resurrection power, we must activate it through faith and prayer. We are called to speak life into dead situations, commanding them to come back to life in the name of Jesus. Instead of succumbing to despair or hopelessness, we are empowered to declare God’s promises and trust in His ability to bring about resurrection and restoration.

Just as the disciples witnessed the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, we too can experience supernatural breakthroughs and transformation in our lives through the same Spirit. Let’s tap into the resurrection power within us and believe for miracles, knowing that nothing is impossible for God.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit, who raised Jesus from the dead and now dwells within me. Help me to activate the resurrection power within me through faith and prayer. Grant me the boldness to speak life into dead situations and to trust in your miraculous provision. In Jesus’ name
