Celebrate Progress

Ezra 6:16 (NIV)
“Then the people of Israel-the priests, the Levites and the rest of the exiles-celebrated the dedication of the house of God with joy.”

After years of delay, frustration, and opposition, the temple was finally completed. It wasn’t just a building-it was a symbol of renewed worship, restored identity, and God’s unfailing faithfulness. So what did the people do? They stopped and celebrated. They gathered together to dedicate the temple with joy, recognizing that every step forward in God’s plan is worth pausing to thank Him for.

Too often in life, we move from one goal to the next without acknowledging what God has already done. We wait until everything is “perfect” before we celebrate. But the story in Ezra reminds us that progress itself is a reason for praise. God doesn’t just meet us at the finish line-He walks with us through every step, and each milestone is a testimony of His grace.

Maybe you’ve been rebuilding your faith, restoring broken relationships, or learning to trust again. It might not look like much yet, but if you’ve taken even one step closer to God, that’s worth celebrating. Don’t dismiss the small wins. Rejoice in the prayers you’ve prayed, the healing that’s begun, the habits you’ve formed, or the peace that’s slowly returning.

So today, take a moment to reflect and rejoice. Look back on how far God has brought you and offer Him your thanks. Celebrate the progress-even if the journey isn’t over-because every stone laid in faith is evidence that God is at work.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for every bit of progress you’ve helped me make. Teach me to pause and celebrate-not just the big victories, but the small steps along the way. Remind me that you are with me in the process, and may my joy always point back to your faithfulness.
