“For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?” – Esther 4:14 (AMPC)
Have you ever faced a situation that seemed impossible? Esther did. A young Jewish woman, thrust into the role of queen, was suddenly confronted with a life-altering choice: risk her life by approaching King Xerxes uninvited, or remain silent and watch her people perish. Her cousin Mordecai’s words challenged her to see the bigger picture—that perhaps God had positioned her exactly where she was “for such a time as this.” With courage and confidence in God’s faithfulness, Esther chose to act, and her boldness changed the course of history.
Confidence doesn’t mean the absence of fear—it means trusting God in the face of it. Fear whispers, “You can’t,” but faith declares, “With God, I can.” Esther’s story reminds us that confidence is not rooted in our abilities or circumstances but in God’s power working through us. Like Esther, we must step out in faith, trusting that God will provide the strength and favor needed to fulfill the purpose He’s called us to.
Maybe God is calling you to a similar “such a time as this” moment. It could be in your workplace, your family, or your community. You might feel unqualified, afraid, or unsure of the outcome. But remember, just as God equipped Esther with the courage to act, He will equip you too. Replace fear with faith and take that bold step forward, knowing that God specializes in making the impossible possible.
Your life has a purpose, and God has placed you where you are for a reason. Trust Him, lean into His strength, and walk confidently into the opportunities He provides. Who knows what He will accomplish through your obedience?
Prayer:
Father, thank you for placing me exactly where I am for a purpose. Help me to trust you fully and to replace my fears with confidence in your power. When I feel inadequate or afraid, remind me that you are with me and that your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Thank you for the plans you have for me and for using me to make a difference. I choose to step out in faith, trusting you every step of the way. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
