I remember while growing up, how we used to take our football into the water and try to experiment with getting it to drown. We will press down with so much force but the moment you remove your hand it comes up again. No matter how much you try, the football will never drown, it always comes back to the top of the water.
What do you think is responsible for the constant victory of that football? Yes, it’s the wind inside! Is it, therefore, a coincidence that the same word ‘Pneuma’ used in the bible to refer to ‘the wind’ is the same word that refers to ‘the Spirit’
So, when the bible says that greater is he that is in us than he that is the world, he refers to the spirit we received when we surrender our lives to Christ (1 John 4:4). When a believer is filled with the Holy Spirit, he is like the football pumped up with the wind, no matter how much you try to drown him he will always come out at the top; he cannot be defeated for the seed of victory remains in him (1 John 3:9).
There’s only one way however to make the football sink, just puncture and let the wind inside waste away, replace the wind with a heavy metal and watch the same bouncing ball sink deeper and deeper until it’s fully down.
Dear believer, the devil is constantly looking to put a hole in your Christian walk so that the wind inside you is gradually removed and when he is done, he will replace it with the burden of worry, of materialism, religion, and frivolitiesies so that the one who has been bouncing in the lord will gradually sink and sink until he is unable to rise again.
What should you do
Remember God is for you, so rise up today and make a bold confession that ‘He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world’. May the wind of the Spirit fill you today and cause you to stay afloat in victory in Jesus name.
