Is the Lord’s Arm too Short?

The Lord answered Moses, “Is the Lord’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not what I say will come true for you.” 

Numbers 11:23

In the opening message of last month’s devotional, I shared the testimony of how God miraculously financed my wedding in 2017. I simply had faith that God was able to feed the people based on the story of Jesus’ feeding of the 5,000 and he did. With God nothing is impossible.

In Numbers 11:21-24, Moses brought the overwhelming reality of the Israelites’ demands before God. Faced with the daunting task of providing meat for over 600,000 men in the wilderness (not including women and children), Moses expressed his doubts and concerns to the Lord, questioning the feasibility of meeting such a demand.

In response, God reassured Moses that His power and provision are limitless. Despite the seemingly impossible situation, God declared, “Is the Lord’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not what I say will come true for you.” (Numbers 11:23). God reminded Moses that nothing is too difficult or beyond His reach.

This event is another reminder to us today that God’s power knows no bounds. What may seem insurmountable or impossible for us is entirely achievable for the Almighty God. Just as He provided for the Israelites in the wilderness, He is able to meet our needs and overcome any obstacles we may face in our lives today.

In our own lives, we may encounter challenges, trials, and situations that appear impossible to overcome. We may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or discouraged, wondering how we will ever find a solution or way forward. However, in those moments, we can find comfort and hope in the knowledge that God is with us, and His power is at work on our behalf.

Jesus Himself reassured His disciples, saying, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26). As believers, we must cling to this truth and place our trust in God’s unfailing promises. No matter how dire or hopeless our circumstances may seem, we can rest assured that God is able to make a way where there seems to be no way.

Let us approach every situation with faith and confidence, knowing that God’s arm is not too short to save, deliver, and provide for us. Surrender your doubts and fears to Him, trusting in His unlimited power and unwavering faithfulness to see you through every challenge.

PRAYER

Lord, thank you for your limitless power and boundless provision. Help me to trust in your promises and rely on your strength, especially in times of difficulty and uncertainty. Grant me the faith to believe that with you, all things are possible, and nothing is too difficult for you. Let your power be made perfect in my weakness, and your name glorified in every circumstance of my life, in Jesus’ name
