It is Never too late

28 Then Samson called to the Lord, saying, “O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!”

Judges 16:28 (NKJV)

A few days back, we were examining the desire of Samson for a Philistine wife, and we were able to conclude that God was using that desire as a means of conquering the Philistine. The problem now is that Samson became consumed by his lust and gave in to Delilah. He forgot the purposes of God, and yielded on the bed of a strange woman. This is what immorality can do to a man, making him forget his purpose and consecration and becoming a victim of the enemy. This is why we need to be cautious not to fall into this situation like Samson. We must not forget God’s purposes and the consecrations we are supposed to live by.

However, there are times we have fallen like Samson, and there are people who are in such situations and wondering how they get out of such situations. Let us also pick something from the man Samson. At the point of death, he cried out to God in repentance, and God heard him, and used his death to still glorify God by destroying the Philistines. This is an example to us that God is not interested in people perishing in their sins, but turning back to God. Regardless of how far anyone has gone in their sins or far away from purpose, God’s arms are stretched out wide and waiting for such to turn back.

God desires that all people are saved, but that can only be achieved when they turn to Him. Even for those who believe in God, He does not want them to go back to their sins, but understand that forgiveness is always available for anyone who repents and turns back to God. Therefore, there is no place that is too far from God’s Love. Apostle Paul in describing this love says that it is so deep, it is so high, it is so wide. He caps it by saying that this love passes knowledge, which means that we can’t fully understand it. That’s why it doesn’t make sense that forgiveness is available for some kind of sin, but in truth it is. God is always willing to forgive anyone who truly comes. 

So, have you gone far in sin? Have you gone far away from purpose? Have you been living for yourself? No matter how far, God’s love reaches you. Simply accept this love.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, thank you for your love that is so deep, it reaches to the depth of my sin, it is so wide, it covers my ignorance, it is so high, it exceeds my pride. I accept your love today. Have mercy on me, as I repent today and choose to live my life to please you, and glorify you, fulfilling your purposes in my life.
