Nothing is Impossible

Do you know that the wall of Jerusalem was rebuilt in the days of Nehemiah within 52 days (Neh 6:15)? Yes! 52 days.
You may not understand what that means until you get a good description of the wall, and try to imagine how it could have happened in 52 days, with human hands, and not some modern machines.

The wall had a length of 4,018meters (2.4966 miles or 4.01789km), an average height of 12 meters (39.37 ft), and average thickness of 2.5 meters (8.2 ft). Just try to imagine how this must have been.
The wall was such that horses could walk to it, which shows how thick it is if you imagine.

The wall contains 34 watchtowers, seven main gates and two minor gates. And so many other features that aren’t included. But we would also remember that the wall had been there in ruins even years after the Temple had been rebuilt. Zerubbabel had led the rebuilding of the Temple between 520 BC and 516 BC, about 4 years. But the walls were in ruins until Nehemiah came in 444 BC, about 72 years after the Temple had been built. And it was rebuilt in 52 days, so amazing!

These 52 days weren’t just days where they had full attention on building, but there were so many distractions and oppositions from various quarters. To the extent that they had to build with one hand and hold a weapon with the other for defence. Just imagine how that must have been? Samballat, Tobiah and Geshem were in a rage because of this rebuilding, and they did all they could to stop it. Still, they completed it in 52 days. It is just simply amazing and shows that it could only have been God.

You know, many times we feel like some things are impossible to be accomplished in our lives, and they may have been left alone just like the wall. But like Nehemiah, we need to be able to trust God to accomplish them. Truth be told, it would never be easy, but our confidence must be in the truth that we stand upon God’s Word and we’ll be amazed by how much God could do through us. Just begin! With full trust and confidence in God that it is possible.

Also, there are tough days in our lives just like Nehemiah and the people felt. They must have had very little rest or sleep throughout this period, but all that must be keeping them was God, knowing that there’s a light at the end.

So, you should also know that in certain times, it would seem as if the world would end, and you are doing everything you could do, and you don’t think you can push anymore. But surely there’s is light at the end. Keep going, for with God all things are possible.
