Pressing Deeper into God’s Encounter (Revelation)

Then he said, “I am the God of your father,[a] the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

Exodus 3:6

We began a conversation about encounters two days ago. We started by exploring the necessity of pressing deeper in order to fully experience every encounter. Yesterday, we delved into what we might encounter on this deeper journey with God.

The first of these is the requirement for consecration, which we discussed yesterday. For Moses, it was removing his sandals. In our case today, it is impossible to enter the next phase of the encounter process without consecrating ourselves to God.

Once the issue of consecration is settled, God is able to entrust us with His mission. Before He does that, however, He must first reveal Himself to us. This revelation is what forms our unique message to the world. It gives evidence to the truth that we teach and validates God’s power to set the world free through us. In light of this, God said to Moses “…I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. (‭‭Exodus‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬‬‬).

God revealed himself to Moses as ‘I AM’. ‘I AM’ is the ultimate statement of self-sufficiency, self-existence, and immediate presence. God’s existence is not contingent upon anyone else. His plans are not contingent upon any circumstances. He promises that He will be what He will be; that is, He will be the eternally constant God. He stands, ever-present and unchangeable, completely sufficient in Himself to do what He wills and to accomplish what He wills to accomplish.

If you also press deeper into God, He will reveal Himself to you. This might manifest as a profound healing gift, igniting a strange yet powerful faith within you to serve His mission. Or, it could be an extraordinary capacity to love beyond reason, propelled by His grace. The outcomes are never the same, but one thing is certain: as you press deeper into God, you’re guaranteed a revelation about your place and purpose within Him.

So, embark on this journey of discovery today!

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank you for your interest in my life and for showing it through encounters. Please open my eyes to see you and my heart to know you on a deeper level in Jesus name
