Caring for orphans and widows in James’ time meant looking after those with no safety net. Father, help me live out a faith that pleases you. Open my eyes to those who are hurting, and give me a heart to serve them. Keep me from being shaped by the world, and shape me instead by your Word. May my religion be pure, both in love and in holiness. Amen.
