Key Verse:
“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command, be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:6–9 (NLT)
When Joshua took over from Moses, it was no small task. The Israelites were known for testing their leaders, and now Joshua had to lead them into the Promised Land. It is no wonder God told him, “Do not be afraid.” This was not a suggestion; it was a command. God knew the weight of the assignment but also gave Joshua the grace and strategy to fulfill it. Fear may have whispered that he was not enough, but God reminded him that success was certain if he followed His instructions.
God’s strategy for courage was simple: stay in the Word. Study it continually, meditate on it day and night, and obey it completely. Studying goes beyond reading; it is diving deep until understanding comes. Meditation means letting the Word fill your mind until revelation transforms your heart. The Word is your weapon against fear. When doubt speaks, answer it with scripture. When the enemy whispers lies, declare the truth of God’s promises.
Beloved, courage grows where the Word dwells. The more you study, meditate, and speak God’s Word, the bolder you become. Knowledge without obedience is empty, but when you act on what you know, you walk in divine strength and success. Obedience keeps you aligned with God’s plan and free from fear.
Do not be afraid or discouraged. God has already gone ahead of you. The same Word that sustained Joshua will sustain you. Be strong, stay in the Word, and walk boldly into your purpose.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for your Word that fills me with courage and strength. Help me to study it diligently, meditate on it daily, and obey it completely. Let your Word dwell richly in me so that fear loses its power. I choose to be strong, courageous, and confident in your presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
