The Power of One Man.

Many people are fascinated by having lots of people around them. We feel some sense of security, correctness, etc with a lot of people. We feel that the number of people involved or agreeing to something will determine its success. We try to get validation of things from lots of people. Or even try to convince as many people as we can before starting out some things. And we even run a system of Government that believes the voice of the multitude is always right.

God, however, sees things differently than the way we see them. We’ve seen God several times decide to start or do things through just one person. And to man, it doesn’t make sense. And sometimes, that one man is opposed for doing it.

God began the entirety of mankind with one man, He saved mankind with one man. And through out the Scriptures, we see God pay attention to specific persons, because He knows how much one man can do.

The slogan of God has always been; “If I can get one man”.

It was the same with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Noah, Micah, and lots more. One man who was ready to do the Will of God. One man who is ready to go miles for God. One man who is prepared to look foolish in front of people Just for God.

For us as human, we count it as failure when we go out with aim of getting people, and all we could produce is just one person. We feel we haven’t done enough. We feel it was a waste of time. But with God, that is huge success, because God sees beyond now.

Remember people like the Ethiopian Eunuch, The Apostles, Acquilia and Priscilla, Joseph of Arimathea, Paul, etc. God had to meet these men through unusual means, even when there were others. He singled them out, and generations were blessed through them. And, on the long run we can see how much effect that had on the Gospel.

So, we could be tempted to feel that one is too little. But, we must see with the eyes of God, that One man is worth a lot. Some Pastors are depressed because they have fewer congregation. But if only they can pay attention to that One man God wants to use in that congregation; taking it step-by-step, one after the other, they’ll be surprised with how much God can do. We shouldn’t be so hurried to want to see millions of people change at once. But be interested in that One person. Take it one after the other.

Therefore, we are not ashamed of having one man to show forth in the work that God has given us because we understand what God can do through one person. So, while everyone is chasing the multitude. Like Jesus, let us take one at a time.
Try to speak to one person. Try to pray for one person. Try to disciple one person. Try to help one person. Try to reach out to one person. Do all you can for one person.

Just One man.
