When Prayer Becomes Worship

“I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.” — Psalm 145:1-3

Have you ever noticed how prayer often starts with requests? We bring our needs, our struggles, and our desires before God, which is good and right to do. But prayer is also so much more—it’s an act of worship. In Psalm 145:1-3, David shows us how to approach God in prayer with a heart full of praise. He declares God’s greatness, exalts His name, and commits to daily worship. When our prayers shift from just asking to adoring, something changes within us.

Like David, we can say, “Every day I will praise you,” because there is always something to thank and worship God for, even on the hardest days.
