Can I tell you something? Your future is far more beautiful than your past. But here’s the catch: to step into that future, you have to let go of the past. We often miss the new things God is doing because our eyes are fixated on what’s behind us. Like someone driving forward but staring into the rearview mirror, we miss the signs of God’s movement all around us. He says, “See, I am doing a new thing!” But the question is, do you see it?
What has your attention? Is it the disappointments of yesterday? The hurt from relationships that didn’t work out? Or maybe the good old days that seem better than what you have now? Dwelling on the past clouds your vision of the new paths God is carving for you. He’s creating streams in your dry places and opening ways in your wilderness, but you won’t notice if your heart and mind are stuck in yesterday. It’s time to stop looking back and start looking ahead.
Moses turned aside to see the burning bush, and it changed his life forever. What if God is calling you to turn aside, to shift your focus from the past and behold the new thing He is doing? Your past may have had its moments, but it cannot compare to the promise of what God has planned. Trust Him to lead you into something extraordinary, even if it feels unfamiliar or uncertain.
God’s new thing is already springing up; it’s not a distant dream—it’s happening now. But to walk in it, you must embrace the unknown with faith, trusting that the One who holds your future is faithful. Let go of yesterday, and let God reveal the beauty of what’s ahead.
Lord, thank you for the reminder that you are doing a new thing in my life. Help me to release my grip on the past and to fix my eyes on your promises. Open my heart to perceive the new paths you are creating for me. I trust you to lead me into a future far greater than anything I’ve left behind. Thank you for your faithfulness.
