I will Not Leave You or Forsake You

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.

Joshua 1:5

In the realm of politics and worldly affairs, people often seek endorsements from influential figures to gain support and legitimacy. However, human loyalty is fickle, and even the most powerful endorsements can waver or disappear. In contrast, God’s promise to be with Joshua is unwavering and eternal. His loyalty does not change, and His word can be trusted completely.

In this verse, God gives Joshua a powerful promise of His enduring presence and support. As Joshua steps into his new role as leader of Israel, God reassures him that He will be with him just as He was with Moses. This divine endorsement is not just a temporary assurance but a lifelong promise: “I will not leave you or forsake you.”

This promise is not limited to Joshua; it extends to us today. God assures us of His constant presence and faithfulness. He will never leave us nor forsake us, and because of His presence, no one will be able to stand against us. When we face challenges, opposition, or uncertainty, we can rest in the confidence that God is with us. His presence empowers us, giving us strength and courage to overcome any obstacle.

As believers, we must hold fast to this promise. In every situation, we can trust that God is by our side, guiding us, protecting us, and ensuring our victory. His unwavering presence is our greatest assurance and the source of our strength.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I thank you for your promise to never leave me nor forsake me. I am grateful for your unwavering presence and faithfulness in my life. Help me to remember that with you by my side, no one can stand against me. Strengthen my faith to trust in your promises, especially in times of challenge and uncertainty. Let your presence be my constant source of courage and strength. Guide my steps and empower me to fulfill your purpose for my life. I rest in the assurance that you are always with me, and I praise you for your eternal faithfulness.
